All opinions stated in this blog are my own, and while I cannot ensure a positive review, I do promise to be honest and to explain my reasons for my ratings. Though many of the books I review are from my own shelves and purchases, others are from author events, blog tours, and requests. In instances where I receive a free copy in exchange for a review, I do include a disclaimer, and the freebie does not affect my opinion of the book.
To give you a better idea of the kinds of books I like to showcase on our blog, here are the genres that I am most interested in reading:
- Fantasy (especially light and Urban Fantasy)
- Romance (especially Historical, Small-Town Contemporary, Fantasy and Romantic Suspense)
- Crime (especially books involving serial killers!)
- Science Fiction
These are the kinds of content featured on the blog:
- Book reviews
- Author/Character interviews
- Excerpts & cover reveals
- Guest posts by authors (especially Bookalikes and Playlists)
- Event coverage
I’m especially keen on building up the blog’s video content (we’ve got a YouTube channel you can subscribe to), so if you want to do an interview via Hangouts or record a video list (e.g., Bookalikes), I’m game for that. I live in the Philippines, so in-person interviews will have to take place here or on scheduled trips.
For Authors, Publishers & Promoters: Requests
Important note: While I am never completely closed to book review requests, since I’m now handling this blog solo, I’m neck-deep in to-be-reviewed books. As such I need to be more selective about the books I agree to review, and even these may take some time as they’ll usually be queued up.
Want me to review your book or participate in your blog tour or other promotional activities? You may email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Do include as much information about your request (book blurb, author bio, etc.) as you can. I accept ARCs, hard copies (although please note that I live in the Philippines), and ebooks, preferably in .epub or .mobi format. I do not receive monetary compensation for my reviews, and I am adamant about providing honest opinions about what I read. I also reserve the right not to accept a request that is not in keeping with my reading preferences.
Because my immediate TBR list is almost always at least 20 to 30 books long (and that’s not always counting my “maybe someday” list!), if you are looking to be featured on the blog, it would also be helpful if you could indicate if you are interested in doing a guest post or other type of feature as well. I also have a full-time job plus a part-time freelance gig, so while I try to get back to everyone within a week or two, I apologize in advance if I’m not very prompt in my replies.
