I always love events where I get to hobnob with fellow readers and/or writers, and tomorrow marks the start of a shindig where I can do both. The annual Philippine Readers and Writers Festival hosted by National Book Store and Raffles Makati promises four days worth of events featuring everything from scholarly reads to light and funny ones.

Since I have a day job (curses!) and adulting duties on Saturday, I’m only going to be there on Sunday, but I’ve already made plans to meet up with authors like the Takedown trilogy‘s Bianca Mori and Six de los Reyes, who wrote Beginner’s Guide: Love and Other Chemical Reactions and Just for the Record! Plus, there are the talks of course!

I’m sure I’m going to be wishing for multiplicity powers because the morning kicks off with two panels I want to sit in on (Book Blogging 101, because I have so much to learn still, and the New Adult fiction panel featuring No Love Allowed author Kate Evangelista and other author friends), then there’s the Stranger Than Fiction panel with When Sparks Fly‘s Ines Bautista-Yao (no relation beyond friendship!), and then I’m going to wish I could split myself again because in the afternoon there’s the Writing Young Adult panel with Mina V. Esguerra and the panel on getting published with editors from various publishing houses.

And if any of you readers of this blog are planning to go, do let me know! I’d love to meet you!
