He wants convenience. She wants love.
Imogen never expected a proposal of marriage from the man she had been in love with all her life. Billionaire duke Julian Walkden was out of her league, and a few weeks ago, had been engaged to a royal princess. The unexpected chemistry from that disastrous night years ago was still burning hot, but was it enough? Julian vowed to give her everything, but the one thing she wanted— his love.
Julian Walkden didn’t believe in marriage but he needed an heir to protect his legacy. His secret fiancee had jilted him and now he was in need of a replacement bride ASAP. Low maintenance and sweet, his sister’s best friend Imogen would make the ideal wife and mother. All Julian had to was crush her romantic dreams about him, seduce her into saying yes, and they would be well on their way to having the perfect marriage of convenience.
What a way to start the New Year!
I can’t believe it took me this long to read a Suzette de Borja book. Clearly I’ve been missing half my life! I’m glad I picked up The Duke Takes a Bride as an intro to de Borja’s writing—her engaging prose and delightful characters make an enjoyable reading experience. It was the kind of book you wouldn’t want to put down—the fast pacing, vivid scenes, and all the feels were the perfect ingredients for a swoon-worthy, unforgettable romance.
